    1) LIVE online parent consultation (50 min) internationally to best help families determine strategies, routines, and plan of action to work through a multitude of challenges. this is a great option for families that are not in the greater Philadelphia area who are looking for body movement recommendations, co-regulation and consciously minded feedback. this includes a written summary of our session and listed recommendations/referrals.

    2) Asynchronous Consultation

In this option, parents send videos related to their question or concern and we respond with targeted suggestions.

For example, if you’re concerned about open mouth breathing, we will ask for videos of baby/child sleeping, awake and alert, feeding, and responding to oral play with teethers, etc. From there we will respond with observations and individualized recommendations.

Another example: you’re concerned about rolling in one direction and not the other, we will ask for videos of baby rolling, playing on their back, their belly, engaging with toys, and feeding. From there, we will respond with observations and an individualized home exercise program for you to carry out.

We will also tell you if this is not an appropriate way to address your concern and offer alternatives if necessary.

This asynchronous consultation will be carried out on Instragram (or preferred alternative) over a 48 hr period from time of receiving videos, and will be focused on the one question/area of concern. Further questions will require another booking.

FAQs regarding offerings

  • Once you reach out to schedule an evaluation, you will be sent a short intake form to fill out before your appointment. Each evaluation is unique, but usually is comprised of the initial conversation reviewing concerns that have led families to this point, follow up questions to get a fuller understanding of the family as a whole and how baby fits into it, and getting to know baby’s demeanor. From there, baby’s body will be evaluated for stiffness, asymmetries, restrictions, and overall development. Many times, experienced providers can get a good picture of what is going on in the mouth just by observing baby’s face, assessing their body, and hearing feedback from family. To complete the evaluation, an oral assessment will be done to further confirm suspected diagnosis and evaluate function.

After the evaluation, suggested exercises and routines will be demonstrated, and recommended plan of care will be discussed. Each evaluation typically lasts between 60 and 75 minutes.

  • Depending on the findings during your evaluation, we will recommend a frequency of therapy to reach your goals.

Usually, the rhythm of treatment regarding tongue/lip-tie babies under 2 months is a pre-op session, scheduling the release, 2-3 weeks of weekly follow-up care, weaning down from weekly to biweekly, then to monthly, and then discharging from regular therapy. For babies over 2 months, this timeline is usually a bit longer, and of course varies greatly depending on each unique circumstance. Family’s time and financial availability is always considered in planning care.

Each session is 45-50 minutes consisting of bodywork, oral-motor work, families offering updates and reports, therapist asking questions, offering an overview of developments noted throughout the session, and then reviewing homework to adjust the home-program developed upon evaluation to reflect growth and continue progress.

  • Being a parent comes with so many challenges that you don’t always expect, and budgeting for care you weren’t planning on is extremely stressful.

Working with an out-of-network provider makes the transaction more transparent for both the provider and the patient, and allows us to work for YOU rather than insurance companies. Costs are laid out up front and there are no hidden fees, co-pays, or premiums. B.WELL OT prefers to work directly for the families that hire us, rather than for insurance companies that dictate the time spent with families and determining what is worth spending time on. We aim to fully educate and empower families during our time together, which isn’t possible following insurance guidelines. We also offer direct access which prevents excess appointments, getting referrals, and waiting for openings.

You are the expert on your child and you are the most important member of their team. Time and effort are valuable, so we want to make the most of our time together rather than following codes for care, we want to follow you and your child.

    Ways to pay:

    • FSA/HSA accepted

    • each account has a card saved on file that is billed at the end of each visit

    • superbills are sent at the end of each week for in-person and virtual visits occurring within PA to submit for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance to see what your out-of-network benefits are.
